Hi Mo. This all depends on what level of control you want to have over the lights. These are bluetooth enabled bulbs and to take advantage of the bluetooth control, you will need an app that can interface with the bulbs. If you only want to control these from an app when you are at home, then the bulbs along with our C by GE app is all you need to do this. If you wish to use voice control with Google Assistant, then you need the bulbs, an official Goggle Home Smart Speaker, and the Google Home app. If you wish the use the bulbs with Amazon Alexa or Apple HomeKit, you will need our C-Reach smart bridge to use for this. So there are several options based on your preferences.
