“Can this unit sit on the counter rather than be installed over a range?”

• Hi there - Thanks for your interest in our beautiful Café microwave. Over-the-range microwave ovens cannot be used on a counter or shelf and are not UL (Underwriters Laboratory) approved for this purpose. The underside is not flat on an over-the-range microwave which would not provide a stable surface. Additionally, there can be a heat issue, especially if the vent fan or surface lights were accidentally turned on. We hope this information is helpful. Have a wonderful day! -Don@Café

• Go to the link for this item and look at all the photos to determine this. I have a different unit that is made to fit within a cabinet, not over a range.

• It can, but aeshetically it wont look good and it may wobble. Since this is built for over the counter, I wouldnt recommend this for on the counter.
