Hey there! Thanks for checking in with us about this. If your unit is in Display Mode, the interior lighting will remain on even when the door is closed, and the proximity lighting is off. The interior light was designed to enhance the display of your collection. If you would like to turn Display Mode off, press the Display button again. Once Display Mode has been turned off, the interior lights will not stay on all the time. We hope this helped! Julia@Cafe
