“What is the height of the unit? On the GE site, it lists it as 16-5/16 in & on other sites (Lowes, Best Buy, Home Depot) it lists it as 17-5/16 in. Also, how much space should I allow for between the grate of my gas stove and the bottom of the microwave?”

Hi there - We appreciate you reaching out to us. The overall height of this over-the-range microwave is 16.125 inches. Over-the-range models must be installed 66" from the floor to the bottom of the cabinet that the microwave attaches to. This can also be measured as 30" from the cooktop to the bottom of the cabinet it attaches to. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.16-5/16 is the hight of unit. 16" to 18" off countertop to bottom of microwave. The microwave has smart technology so if there is too much heat from stove it will turn on fan.
