I believe it records up to 24hrs for the free version.

My recordings will initially show no movement for the first 10 to 20 seconds then I'll see what it was that tripped the recording. It continues to record and then links multiple parts where there is movement.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.The Canary will continue to record as long as there is motion occurring in its field of view. It does not have a set recording interval like some of the other systems. One thing I like is that if there is short periods where there is no motion between periods of motion, it records all of it as one event, but will automatically skip past the time where there was no motion so you don't have a lot of "empty" video associated with the event.
