 The battery grip does NOT come with a second battery. The camera comes with one and the grip can run off of either one or two batteries. I got a grip for my 5D IV and would recommend it. It makes the camera bigger, but I have big hands and it fits me well. Hope this helps:-).

I think I answered this a bit too late but the camera body comes with one battery and the battery grip does not. You will need to buy an extra battery. You can get a generic one at Best Buy but I’d suggest purchasing an actual Canon battery.

The batteries are not included with the grip. The grip takes two of the same batteries that the camera body itself uses.
