I recently bought this camera as an addition to my 5D Mk lll. The additional features like wifi and GPS along with a whopping 30 megapixels make this an incredible unit for the novice/professional photographer. I'm still getting used to a few of the new settings but so far the results have been incredible!

    A camera necessity

This is a necessary addition for the Canon 5D Mark IV! It installs easily and fits firmly. I can go out all day taking wildlife/nature photos without having to stop to replace a battery. It provides a nice grip for the camera and you can easily switch from landscape to portrait shots without having to hold the camera awkwardly. This is due to the extra buttons (including shutter button) on the battery grip making it easy to the camera in a portrait /90 degree position and still hold the camera With your hands on your left and right sides of the camera. Excellent addition to the camera!

Canon battery grips are actually a really nice accessory to own if you're getting serious with your photography. What's not to like about having twice the battery? The shutter and controls are excellent when you've got the camera sideways, you don't have to reach around the camera to hit the main shutter. Sure, it might be a little added weight and bulk but at the end of the day it's worth it, especially when you need the extra power.

A quality canon product and Best Buy has it at the best price. Not everyone needs or wants a battery grip. They do make your camera bigger. However they offer you a great amount of control of your camera when hand held, better ergonomics and shutter release placement when shooting portrait. Of course Everyone wants twice the battery life. You'll need a battery.too

    Really Extends Battery Life

If you are a heavy user, than this is a great add-on. It really extends the life of the battery in particular if you are a heavy user of the cameras power intensive features. Also, the fact that it is shaped for the hand actually gives the camera even more options for gripping it. One thing to be aware of is that it is heavy.

    A needed accessory for us

The grip itself for us is a must-have. Shooting weddings means you need plenty of battery life and this grip adds the additional capability that we need. There are several downsides though. First is the price, this thing is expensive for what it adds for capability. Second, is the size and weight. it adds a significant amount of bulk to an already heavy camera. For most people though, having a battery grip is just not worth it in my opinion.

Not a space saver, and its a little bulky if you have small hands. When its loaded with batteries it adds weight to your camera. But if you're shooting a long event like a wedding, one of these babies comes in handy.

Must have for those who need extended battery life

I am a big fan of battery grips and Canon did great with this one. The fit and finish matches the camera body perfectly. The new multi function button is included making shooting in portrait even easier. The best part though is the capacity for an extra battery. This extends my shot time out by double and means I don't have to worry about dead batteries or swapping batteries in the middle of my day. If there is a negative it would be if you have small hands. A battery grip could make the camera harder to handle with the extra size it adds to the camera body. Probably not a problem for most but try to test a battery grip out before buying if you never used one before.

Makes the camera a little bulky and heavier. It is a great way to extend your shooting time without having to change batteries as often.

The battery grip is a great addition to the 5D Mark IV. Many reviews stated that the area where the battery inserts feels cheap which I would have to agree but the feel of the grip on the camera felt very sturdy. I like being able to shoot more without having to change that battery but it did add extra weight which I honestly don't mind. This is my first battery grip and being able to shoot portraits feels a lot more comfortable.

Its got a good feel to it but its practically all plastic.. way too expensive just like all other canon products...however it does feel great, designed well, keeps me shooting longer because of the two batteries

I’m glad I made this purchase. The battery grip does add to the weight of an already heavy piece of equipment (camera & lens) but it’s absolutely worth it. No need to stop and scramble to change out one battery for another during a period of long usage.

It does add weight and bulk to the camera body but it is a wrist and hand saver as you can grip the camera with better placement and save yourself some cramps later. Worth the added weight and bulk in my opinion and a must have if you want an extended battery life.

The battery grip is a great addition to extend the amount of time you can shoot before needing to swap batteries. Very simple To attach. It does add a little more weight. I mainly use a tripod so it hasn’t been an issue

Great when you need more battery time, but adds a fair amount of extra bulk when you don't. The nice thing is you can always remove it when you don't need it! And hey it's great practice for when can finally afford to buy a Canon 1D body.

I love having the extra battery power but the grip does add a substantial amount of weight to the camera. It gets pretty crazy when you have a large lens like the 70–200mm on your camera with this grip. Still would recommend!
