Q: Is this battery grip compatible with the Sony A7R Mark III?
A: Yes, this is the one Sony indicates will be used by the a7R Mark III once it is released. Just remember, Best Buy stores will usually have the other battery grips in stock, but this a9 (and a7R iii) battery grip usually have to be ordered. Also, take advantage of their current buy 3 camera accessories and get 25% off sale, since those Z batteries are not cheap.
Q: I want to purchase this for my A 7 III. Does this comes with all the required batteries inside ?
A: No. You need to buy the batteries. I just used the one that came with my camera and bought another OEM battery.

Q: What’s so good about the grip? Why not just have 2 batteries?
A: Better grip for larger hands. Easy to move to portrait shooting because of the extra shutter button. Combining 2 batteries will last longer.
