New with printer 28g Refills 27g Based on what I've heard and info found online. Not much difference and NO, I don't know why unless Canon puts a touch extra in the new with printer carts to make up for the initial charge of the printer system.

I found the amount of ink in the container with the set about the same as if you bought each one separately. I now like having the rest of the inks in the box so when I run out f a color I will have it right there and not have to wait n a shipment o come in the mail. Matter of convenience. Always watch your prices and dealers. There are some bad guys out there they offer cheap deals but not the quality. that Canon has.
