That adapter retails for 1/2 the price of this one, so if the control ring isn't that important to you when using EF lenses, you can save a little money. And 3rd party EF to RF adapters (also without the control ring) are about 1/4 the price of this item.

Even though mine was second hand although advertised as new, and all beat up [sorry Best Buy, be happy or feel sorry for me that i was forced to get it from eBay at double the retail price or go without], nevertheless, it has worked excellent on the R6 and R5, producing clearly better images than those from my 5D mark iv with same lens that obviously does not require this mount adapter.
