• A:Answer Yeah it definitely is worth it if you shoot manual or a custom setting often. I have one custom setting that uses the ring for ISO and another that uses it for the shutter speed depending on how dim or bright the lighting is. Although you have to own enough EF Canon lenses to justify it, RF lenses have their own control ring built into the lens body out at the end of the lens. Good luck, also I think this might have an ND filter option although I haven't used it, I'm not certain. Ryan

• A:Answer I don't think any adapters go backwards like that. All are for EF lenses to fit on an RF body. Come to think of it I dont think it could be built becase you have to mount an RF lens deeper into the EF body.

• A:Answer Yes if you have EF or even EFS Lens and are connecting to an RF mount...this will work. The one with the control ring I used with the EOS R and the R6 and it was amazing being able to custom map whatever control I want to the ring. You will have to look at the manual, can DL one free online or find some info on it out there to see if the R8 allows the same...it should. But out of all the various EF to RF adapters this (the control ring version)is the best and the one to get imo. But any of the EF to RF adapters (normal, control ring, or nd filter version) will work for any camera that is RF mount and will allow all EF and EFS glass.

• A:Answer Yes it does for most lenses. There may only be some lenses it might not work on, but ive never had any issues with af or stabilize working with EF and EFS lenses including non Canon brands such as Sigma and Tamron. It works great imo and I havent had any reason to switch to RF glass yet cause of my EF and EFS collection...qnd EF is just cheaper than RF. Get a good quality EF lens from Canon, Sigma, or Tamron, or such and should be happy! Lots of YouTube videos comparing all these together out there if wanna see the small differences that really comes from the glass/lens and not the mount differences...but it is smaller differences.
