Q: Will this work on my Sigma lenses 150-600mm contemporary?
A: Mixed results. The auto-focus on non-native lenses is tetchy. I have a Sigma 150-600 and use it with a Z5. It's inconsistent. A series of 10 continuous shots may have a few that are out of focus. If you already have the lens, this might be worth the money, when compared to your 2 other options, the Nikon Nikkor Z-mount 100-400mm lens which is almost $2700, or the Nikon Nikkor F-mount 200-500mm at almost $1400 (which will still need this adapter) which is a native lens - Nikon guarantees it will work. With either option you still don't have the reach of the Sigma. This picture was taken with the Sigma. The plane is approximately 2 miles away and is one in a series of about 10 from one shutter release. Out of 10-12 pictures in one release, only a few were tack-sharp. Hope this helps!
Q: What is the difference between NIKON Mount Adapter FTZ and NIKON Mount Adapter FTZII?
A: Streamlined Design with No Tripod Mount Ideal for Cameras with Battery Grip
A: This adapter will fit perfectly on all your DX or FX lenses with F mount because this adapter simply adapt the F mount to the larger Z mount. The D850 is an FX (full frame camera) and uses an F mount. The difference between a DX lens used on an FX body is that the image will be cropped to fill the FX frame cause the DX sensor is smaller than the FX. I have a D850, and bought a Z8 then thanks this adapter I can use all my beloved F mount lenses in my new Nikon mirrorless and work perfectly.
