Yes if you have EF or even EFS Lens and are connecting to an RF mount...this will work. The one with the control ring I used with the EOS R and the R6 and it was amazing being able to custom map whatever control I want to the ring. You will have to look at the manual, can DL one free online or find some info on it out there to see if the R8 allows the same...it should. But out of all the various EF to RF adapters this (the control ring version)is the best and the one to get imo. But any of the EF to RF adapters (normal, control ring, or nd filter version) will work for any camera that is RF mount and will allow all EF and EFS glass.
