Yeah it definitely is worth it if you shoot manual or a custom setting often. I have one custom setting that uses the ring for ISO and another that uses it for the shutter speed depending on how dim or bright the lighting is. Although you have to own enough EF Canon lenses to justify it, RF lenses have their own control ring built into the lens body out at the end of the lens. Good luck, also I think this might have an ND filter option although I haven't used it, I'm not certain. Ryan

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.By what I can tell the answer is no. It gives you control of camera functions from the lens. I shoot with an R so the controls are on a touch screen and very easy to change.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.it is for me but for others not. its a personal preference.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The adapter without the control ring is 1/2 the price, and a 3rd party adapter (also w/o adapter) is 1/4 the price. So is the control ring worth $150. Nobody can answer that for YOU. Only you can decide how valuable the control ring is to you. An RF camera lets you program the function of the control. Check your camera's user manual to see which functions can be selected for the control ring. If you think using the control ring would be useful to YOU for any of those functions, then you have to decide if the extra price is warranted for that convenience with your EF glass.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Because the touch bar is lame (on the EOS R) I’m finding it useful. Workflow seems improved.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, it is worth it. Once you get used to the extra ring on native RF lenses I think you will miss having it for your EF lenses.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I LOVE having the ring. Set it for ISO and I have the entire exposure triangle right at my fingertips. ISO with my left hand, shutter speed and aperture with my thumb and index finger on the other.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi. I love the control ring and since I have a lot of EF lenses, I am able to use the control ring with my EF lenses on my EOS R camera. If you plan on replacing your EF lenses with the RF lenses then you won't need this adapter or if you don't care to use the control ring. I will plan on replacing my EF lenses when more RF lenses come out but hopefully I get my money worth out of it before that happens. :)
