Is this lens compatible to a EOS 40D Digital? null

i dont see why not, this fits the rebel, as well as the 5D mark2

It should be. Look for a red dot above the opening for the sensor dead center. If it has it then it works. Red dot = EF mount. See picture. If you have the red dot center then it accepts all Canon EF lenses for full frame cameras. You should also have the white square dot to the right of that. Thats your standard EFS mount for all the smaller lenses. Your camera should be an APS-C sensor (smaller sensor)
