Before I got my camera, I read every review I could get my hands on and narrowed it down based on what people shared and what I wanted the camera for. I will be retiring and traveling to national parks and wanted a good dependable camera. I myself am a beginner and chose the Nikon 5500. I also took a class to learn about DSLR cameras which allowed me to find out what all of the buttons were for and not be afraid to touch them. I also chose a different lens because of the reviews I read, and it was still a bundle.
