Does this printer need WIFI, or will it operate on USB cable null

Does have a usb outlet but I have not used.

Best used with a cable. Wifi is very poor for maintaining connectivity. I gave up trying. Works as it should when cabled up.

I have it hooked up to WIFI wireless.  It has a USB connection in the back to plug in directly

It provides accessibilities to both. I connected it to my WIFI and also have the USB cable plugged into my device for back-up printing.

I use the Mobile Hotspot on my Samsung S9+

I am terrified of not using the cable - BUT this miraculously works like a dream - never once have I had a problem.

I had to very meticulously follow the set-up directions - including right through to the last step.....  and amazingly enough... voila...

I am nearly technologically illiterate - so it is still terrifying - and still works....
