“Can I print black and white images with the color ink cartridges? If so, does it take more ink than printing in color? I'm wanting to buy the Canon Selphy printer and this printer/ink pack for my daughter but she mainly prints all pics in black and white”

Yes. You can absolutely print in black and white. It still uses the same amount of ink though. The cartridge is a photo film type ink. It only lasts for 36 photos. Then you put in another pack of paper and another ink cartridge.
