You cannot use black ink in place of the color ink in your printer. It won't function properly and could damage the printer
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.NO! The printer will lose its mind if you try to put a black tank in the color slot. Just keep your color so it doesn't require replacement and then set your Printer Preferences to Black & White, Greyscale, etc. and it won't really touch the color. Means you'll only need to replace the color very infrequently. You CAN buy XL versions of these tanks in both black and color and save some as well, 1 275XL should give you about the same as 1.75 of the regular tank.
