If any of the color cartridges run out, can I still print all black and white? null

I am only using the printer so far to do cad drawings, I read in one of the reviews, the person was saying that it was nice to only buy the cartridge that was needed, hope this helps.

You can, but only for a while. Eventually it will stop all printing and force you to replace one or more of the color cartridges than ran out. However, we have found that you can continue to print black ink docs for quite a while. We only print black ink docs here and are aggravated by the fact that the printer somehow still lets the color cartridges run out, prompting the warnings to change to new ones.
