“Will this printer be able to utilize architectural size B paper for building plans”

• I mainly use this printer for the photos, if the spec said it can print out the B size, then it should be. The photo prints are excellent. Sorry for not helping you. Call Canon directly and ask for it before you buy the product. Thank you.
