My guess would be yes - I have used the printer on a number of versions of Windows - and I think my last laptop was Win XP. Either way, Best Buy will take it back if it is not compatible - you have a few days to try it out.

I don't think there is a driver/software for you to download for Windows XP unless your laptop/computer has a CD-Rom drive and then you can try to install the drivers with the CD that it comes with. I think you would have to buy it and try it yourself to see if it will work bc Windows XP is old and I didn't think that anyone would still be using Windows XP. I use a Surface Pro 2017 and there is no CD-Rom Drive and the USB CD-Rom drive for my Macbook Pro 2012 doesn't work with my Surface Pro 2017 even though it's got a spot for USB. The Surface Pro 2017 doesn't recognize it so I have to download the digital version of it on Cannon's website which was no problem for me since it's the same as the CD that came in the box. I would try and buy the printer and try setting it up using the CD that it comes with and see if it will install on your Windows XP device. All you have to do is open the box and get the CD out and try to install it and if it does install on your XP device then you can take the printer out of the box and unbox it and start using it. If it won't work with the CD then you're not going to be able to connect to it so don't even bother taking it out of the box and return it right away. That's my best suggestion.
