- Answer I've only had it for a few weeks and haven't tried to do that yet. But Scan is one of the options on the touchscreen, so it should. I'll update this at a later time if I'm able to do it.

- Answer No. Canon PIXMA 8520 uses 250 and 251 series cartridges. While they physically fit into the slots for the TR8620a printer, the printer does not recognize them electronically, and gives an error message. You will need to start over and buy 280 and 281 series cartridges for the TR8620a printer. Another disadvantage: these cartridges are sold in a 6-combo-pack, rather than individually. For ordinary document printing, one uses more black ink than any of the other colors, so it's preferably to buy cartridges individually.

- Answer only fax by land "hard wire" phone system. If you want to fax over the internet, you will need to find a supplier, or service that will convert for you.
