I am not an i Pad owner but I use an i Phone 7. Using the Wifi capability of this camera I regularly download photos from the camera to my i Phone. Depending on how tech savvy she is, at the age of 10 she may requires some help at first but once you do it a few times it becomes second nature. It's one of the features I bought this camera for.
