• Easily broken? No. Easily replaceable? Also no. This uses a special type of strap where the watch lugs have been replaced with a single "lug" in the middle of the strap. So no standard straps will fit. Given the price of getting an actual replacement strap, you are almost better off replacing the entire watch if the strap breaks.

• No it's a not a typical rubber band... It's solid mesh\cloth type band.
