“Are both games on the cartridge? Or is the 2nd game a digital code on a card? I ask because I'd like to get this game only if "both" games are on the cartridge.”

Sorry for the late response, but yes both games are on one cartridge. No need to download any game outside of updating them both due to patches and what not.
