The purpose of an astronomical telescope is to both magnify and gather dim light. So, the actual answer in not how far you can see, but how dim. A bright distant might be easier to see than a dim nearby object, so depending on what you are looking at, there is no true answer as to "how far" you can see with a given telescope.
