The maximum magnification of a telescope is variable depending on how stable the atmosphere is. The accepted rule of thumb to prevent using excess magnification that will degrade the image is 30X per inch of telescope aperture. Thus, the Nexstar 8se will handle up toi 240X. Our 9mm eyepieces will deliver 222X with this telescope.
