Thank you for your question. Professional installation is not required for the SC 220C, as it’s designed for straightforward setup with the included 12V accessory cable that plugs into your vehicles cigarette-lighter style port. However, we do recommend professional installation if you choose to hardwire the camera which wires your dash cam directly into the vehicle’s fuse box for a versatile installation.
