“I am unable to unmute myself & when playing Fortnite i can only hear the music & sound effects i can not hear anyone playing the game or my teammates. I have checked all the settings with no luck. Is this just a defect in the set i got?”

Make sure you don't have priority override turned on in your game settings, and in your computer's audio settings. Also, do you have the device support service from Corsair set up? I'd ask the manufacturer for help if it's not a settings issue through your game or your system.
