It should work, and if you have never upgraded, you should have an empty bank to ad one chip for a total of 16gb, or replace both with this same kit for 32gb. Remember, you must check the Laptop's Hardware limits. Mine is a gaming laptop that can go as high as 64gb of RAM. I used this kit to upgrade mine from 8gb to 32gb of RAM.
