My daughter (who attended culinary classes) tells me the color coding addresses meat, veg, dairy, etc to avoid cross contamination. Not such a big deal for home use, but in a busy commercial kitchen it CAN be............I'd say for the price, HIDE the orange knife and sheath ; )
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Someone said I’m not sure why you would need a knife for dairy products… cheese is a dairy product, and cheese gets cut with a knife
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No the color doesn’t mean anything they are bright & colorful just like a rainbow! Orange just happens to be in the rainbow. (FYI the orange knife is my most used) These are great knives! *IF you don’t care for the colorful choice … *CHECK OUT the black bladed ones with grey/black wood like handles.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ha Ha I get it. Sooo...the colors are basically so you remember which knife is good for what purpose....Slicing / Paring/ Bread, etc Be careful tho...They R SHarp!!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Ummm not really. The orange one is my more utility knife in the kitchen. It opens bags and cuts a few things here and there. Its clearly a favorite of mine. If you don't want that particular one you could store it in the garage for other uses.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The description flatly says "features color coding for simple organization and to help reduce cross-contamination." The first part means you won't have trouble, especially for the similarly sized blades, picking which sheath goes with each knife. The second part means in your busy kitchen, you can assign the colors to uses, so, for a example, a knife that is cutting raw meat won't be picked up to cut fresh fruit.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Well, you could always put it in a drawer, I guess...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No significance to each function or design.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The color codes have nothing to do with the function of the knives. They are color-coded by type of knife only. Not sure why anyone would need a knife for dairy products.
