• Nothing needed under the toaster, normal kitchen counters should be fine.

• Th bottom gets warm but not hot. We do not have any protection under it to keep from overheating.

• We have it on a granite counter top below overhead cabinets, so far no issues with the heat. We love this oven, no regrets.
