“I plan on being able to use this for video production which will sometimes require being on generator power, does this unit have a built in power conditioner so it may operate on a generator without draining the battery?”

Hello Andy, Unless the unit does not have a power conditioner for use with a generator. Unless the generator is an inverter generator, we would not recommend this unit for use with a generator.
