• Yes it will I got one for just that reason for my Mother and it works great also have a light plugged into it

• Yes, I had an older model hooked up to one for my mother, but you cannot leave it in the feet up position long, it will drain the power fast after awhile!! I have this one hooked up to a dual sofa recliner, and so far no problem!
