“After I started up the computer, it didn't tell me to enter the product-key for windows. I just went straight to set up the windows 10 system. Can anyone tell me why? it says i would be required to enter the product key.”

Windows still needed to be activated. The sticker on the side of the PC has a scratch off section that has the product key. It prevents someone from stealing your key and it allows you to activate it.
