Does the finish rub off with cleaning? null

The brass finish rubs off just by using it. Very poor to add burner tops that don't function.

In my experience the finish was fine during cleaning. However, with the heat during use of the stove top, discoloration began on one side. Once that discoloration happened it became extremely difficult to clean and the surface became rough.
