No, the spotlight is not required to stay on. You can adjust or disable the spotlight through the camera settings in the app.
For recording, the available options are either motion-based recording or continuous 24/7 recording. At this time, custom recording schedules or specific time windows are not supported. Best regards, Jenny | Defender Customer Experience Expert
