Today Modern receivers will often provide room correction technologies. The room correction technology will EQ and balance each channel, allowing one to use different brands of speakers with great success. For example, Audyssey is Built-in with Denon or Marantz receivers and will help match your JBL speakers to the Definitive Technology SR-9040 speakers.
