A:Answer Chromebooks use the open source (free to use by anyone for any legal purpose) operating system "Chrome," developed by Google, and based on the open source Linux kernel, which in turn is based on Unix. Any and all operating systems that have the word "Windows" in the title were developed by Microsoft, an entirely different company, and are proprietary (cost money, and only usable under specific license) to that company. While there are ways to use all three systems on the same machine, they are not inherently compatible. Think iPhones vs. everyone else.
