I believe the Xbox limits itself to 30 FPS, maybe 60 if you’re lucky. I may be wrong on this as I only had the Xbox One. In addition, to fully utilize the monitor, you need to use the DisplayPort cable. Without it, G-Sync will not work as HDMI is not enabled to use it. 

There is no cable that I am aware of that will allow you to use it’s full potential as you will still have the losses from the cable, regardless.

A display port cable
The display port cable doesn't give sound like HDMI will though. You'll need separate speakers or a headset
