Windows 11
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This answer is especially for Anonymous, who asked (3 months ago), "Dell are you sure windows home is preloaded, The store is trying to get me to buy it with an annual rnewal [sic]:" 1. The Operating System, "Windows Home in S Mode." which is the basic software of the computer (you cannot do ANYTHING without this, or an equivalent), is included in the price of the laptop. 2. The Best Buy salesman was probably trying to get you to subscribe to Microsoft Office 365, of which there are a few versions, with each having a different combination of programs. If the unit will be used for for work or student, you might consider the subscription; otherwise, it is now necessary. There is also a one-time purchase available for OWNERSHIP of, not subscription to, the Suite, or individual packages. Also, if you only need limited use/access to the programs, MS allows free use via an online version. Finally, there are a few free, non-Microsoft packages available, which some people actually prefer, due to the better integration of the separate components with each other.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You are probably confusing the OS, which to date is included with the machine, and MS Office, which used to only be available as a one-time purchase, but which Microsoft now prefers people subscribe to (although you can still buy-to-own).
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Just to be clear: all PCs have the MS-OS preloaded; this is part of the definition of "PC." Other software (such as Adobe Reader, or Office Suite), may, or may not be installed. If not preinstalled, any compatible software could be downloaded from a number of sites.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Windows 11 Home is the operating system included. All other software would need to be purchased.
