SSDs are definitely more superior. They tend to make a computer run 10x faster than traditional standard hard drives with 5200 rpm read/write speeds. Most laptops that are running a 500gb or 1TB will be running at that 5200 rpm speed. There are hard drive replacements by seagate or western digital that have higher speeds like 7200 rpm but even those are still slower than SSDs.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Standard hard drives have mechanical moving part to write or read from a disk platter. A solid state drive is basically one large memory chip, no mechanical moving parts. Solid state drives are must faster accessing and writing files. If you need more storage, than get that model that has the larger standard HDD. If you don't plan to store a lot of music/video files, the you'll be pleased with the speed of the SSD.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Solid state drive reads and writes data alot faster then a regular hard drive, improves your boot up time. Which is better depends. Do you want to boot up 5x faster and access your files faster or do you want more storage? The 500gigs will give alot of storage, 128 solid state will be filled more then halfway just with windows alone. I went with the 128ssd i like the speed, and save big files on a usb flash drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.SSD is like the SD card in a camera- no moving parts so it doesn't generate heat like a regular hard drive. SSD is new technology so you get less storage for the money compared to the standard hard drive, but the payoff is no heat and lighter weight computer. It is possible to buy a external hard drive to plug in so you can add storage capabilities to the computer
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.HDD: has moving parts to it so it heats up more. With the extra heat your files are more susceptible to corruption and hard drive failure. SSD: no moving parts, faster memory access. safer for your files but the downside is capacity
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Solid state will run much faster.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.a solid state drive has no moving parts so it runs cooler, uses less power, and processes information quicker. draw backs are usually size
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Solid state is much faster because no moving part like a normal HD. Normally I'd go for the bigger HD but in the laptop I would go with the solid state because it really helps it to boot faster and load files faster
