Lol. No modern laptop should lag when typing. But to answer your question, it’s one of the top of the line laptops out there and is hard to recommend against unless budget is of concern.

This computer runs great and doesn't lag on most games, and I type decently fast when talking to people on overwatch, so it should be able to handle such speeds for writing papers and it can download certain programs to be used as it was made for this function.

Yes, this will be a great computer for that purpose. I have been using it to type up a lot of legal documents & it's worked perfect for me. 
 I love how light it is to. Makes it to we're I can comfortably sit on my couch and use it on my lap.
