Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.You should make it a habit of backing up anything on a computer that is important to you, as no technology is perfect. That said, a motherboard failure could be handled by disconnecting the drive from it and using an adapter to convert it to a USB connection, then copying the information you need to another drive.
