Press the round power button on the front. Give it a few mins to let the water get hot. Then on the left side is a dial. Turn that towards to lil coffee cup/ up. Once you have brewed your cup of espresso turn that dial back to closed. Then if you need to do any steaming turn that same dial down. And the again back to closed when done. ( Make sure you keep the dial closed and the power off on the espresso side when not in use. )
