The milk frother usually is filled up with cold milk, soy, etc right before use. Then after you are done, there is a button to flush out the frother parts of the milk you used. Then that frother easily pulls out from the machine and I put into the fridge. That way the frother can just be taken out at any time to do another coffee easily.

Their instructions say you can keep it in the fridge for one day after filling it. it does not have any built in cooling. i would suggest cleaning after every use so there's no gunk stuck in the milk parts.
