“is the AVR S960h smart video compatible with the LG smart TV's?”

• The AVR S960h is compatible with my new LG OLED65C9PUA and it is able to accept all my equipment including DVD player, older Bose surround sound system, cassette player, turn table and cable box. I tried to run the cable box through the AVR, but could not get the Denon remote to turn on TV & AVR without pressing multiple keys. So I connected the box directly to the TV and use its remote to turn on both using only 2 keys. The Denon controls all the other devices nicely.
