“Is there a huge difference between this one and the 8k AVR-X4700H other than 15 more w per channel. with my AVR-X4700H i'm getting 11.2 with a power amp. I know with this one I can do 11.2 and add 2 more channels with power amp.?”

The X4700H only allows up to 11 channels with an external 2 channel power amp. The X6700H gives you up to 13 channels with an external 2 channel power amp. The X6700H also allows you to add certain features via an update like DTS:X Pro.
