A good choice for moving up to Dolby Atmos and 8K. A good price point, solid performer, looks and sounds great.

I upgraded from 4700 to this 6700 and it works perfectly with Marantz power amplifier to support my home theater 7.2.6 system, Compared with the 4700, the sound effect is very impactful and has been significantly improved.

Purchased last month (March 2022) as an upgrade to the AVR3400, which was a good receiver. I definitely notice the difference, with additional power to my upgraded 5 speaker setup in 5.2 configuration.

Where's the New Model?

Over priced for one thing. This model is from 2020. In 2021, I was thinking about getting an 8K TV and I would have to replace my Denon- AVR- X6500H 4K receiver. At that time, this receivers were just under $2200.00. At that time, Best Buy offered me a 10% discount for my birthday, and I was tempted to buy one even though I did not have an 8K TV yet. Well, I decided to hold off for 2 reasons. 1, I didn't have the TV yet and I couldn't justify buying it at that time. And 2, I thought a newer model would be coming out soon. Well, the newer model still hasn't come out. When I did decide to get 1, it was around my birthday again, so I was waiting to get my 10% discount from Best Buy, but they stopped that program. Then, on top of that, Denon raised the price of the unit to over $1,000.00 more for the same 2020 model. Lucky me. As for how it works and sounds. The picture with it and my Samsung 8K TV are great. But as for the sound, it doesn't even compare to my old X6500 model. In fact, when my grandson is here watching my 4K TV, that the X6500 model is hooked up to (and believe me, the speakers I have with the 8K version are far superior compared to the ones I have hooked up to older model), blows the newer model away. I wished it sounded as good on the 8K receiver. No matter how I try to set it up, it still doesn't produce the great sound as the older model. One good thing I can say is, Denon finally got around to adding two more speaker hook ups. Would I buy one again? Of course. I have to for my TV. I see Denon has upgraded some of their cheaper models, but they still haven't (after 3 years), upgraded this model.

Great amp. I've always been a fan of Denon receivers and this one is really nice. Using it as a pre-amp for my atmos 5.2.6. Only my in ceiling speakers are running off the amp. Being able to assign the channels is a great feature. Running the system at full 11 channels with on-board amp is too much for any receiver at loud volumes. Power amp is easy to hook up with the pre-outs on the AVR. Set up was a breeze and using Audyssey really helped dial in my speakers.

Not much difference from the 4700 but a massive difference in price makes this a tough sell. if you need the two extra channels, sure, but the watts are not noticeable at all.

Great sound and flexibility. Using this for my front wides, surrounds and front/rear heights. I have an Emotiva BasX 3 channel amp used for the front stage with this receiver used as a preamp. Sounds really clean and was a nice upgrade from my previous Denon AVR-x4200. My only gripe is the HDMI 2.1 issue it has currently with the Xbox series X and the adapter they are offering as a fix. It would be nice to actually receive it, but better yet, it would’ve been better to not continue to sell a receiver with a known chipset issue and wait to release them once updated. Denon customer service on this issue has been pretty insufficient to date.

All I can say is perfection! At reference levels this AVR is so clear! I currently have a 7.1 set-up with 3 total zones. I will be adding two front height speakers to get the full effect. Movies have never sounded better. I literally feel surrounded. I play Amazon music using Alexa and the HEOS app. Amazing. I use the multi-channel setting and it sounds like the artist is singing in the middle of my family room! I have full control of my 3 zones using the HEOS app on my phone. it is everything and more than I had hoped for!

Easy to install and set up with the included microphone which balances the volume from all speakers. Streams ATMOS content when available. Plenty of power and the room to room drives an amp for speakers all over the house.

We are upgrading our home speaker system to have more channels and this AVR is quite the device! We got it on sale after the new version was announced. Highly recommend if they restock for an 11 channel receiver that can process up to 13 channels for an external amp.

I used this to set up a 5.1.2 ATMOS system and a zone 2 with two additional speakers out on the patio. I have a 4K OLED TV and the up-scaling is terrific. Since it can upscale to 8K as well mattered for future proofing. Denon has fixed all the issues with the HDMI chips used back in 2020 when the receiver was launched so all is good. The receiver is truly outstanding. The setup is intuitive, and very clear through on-screen menus. The Odyssey calibration is easy and amazing. My theater literally sounds like it never has before. Couldn’t be more pleased. The App control is very deep as well, with the Denon AVR App and HEOS app. Buy with confidence if you are looking for a receiver that can take you through a decade.
